Duduza worship encounter to address community challenges through music and prayer

Expect Duduza to come alive with the Duduza Worship Encounter on October 13.
Organised by the Duduza Institute of Music and Arts (Dima), the event aims to praise God and pray for His intervention on the socioeconomic issues society faces, like unemployment, substance abuse in young people, crime, and other struggles the community deals with.
Sipho Nhlapho, Sibusiso Nkosi, Dumisani Maseko, Simphiwe Mahlangu, Thabo Mofokeng, Kgotso Ramoipone and Tsidiso Seatle, who had a mutually shared vision of reviving musicianship in Duduza, formed Dima last October.
Duduza has produced many great musicians who wowed SA with their music, such as the late Vuyo Mokoena, Xoli Nkosi, Sbu Dludlu and Wandile Nkosi-Moloi, to mention a few.
Dima’s vision is to unite musicians in the township and encourage collaboration. The goal is to be a hub of artist development through workshops, master classes and training for musicians and singers.
The group wants to bridge the gap between generations by having experienced and seasoned musicians share their experiences and skills with the younger generation through mentorship and coaching programmes, which will also provide life skills, platforms for talent exposure and support, character development and help the rising artist understand the business side of music and the arts.
Residents are invited to the Duduza Worship Encounter, and the lineup includes Faith Twala, Nhlanhla Mwelase, Image Masilela and many others.
