Alternative hip-hop artist inspired to create timeless music

Alternative hip-hop artist Wiseman Bapela is set to release a joint album with is friend soon.

Duduza – Wiseman ‘Lord_UI’ Bapela (24) is an alternative hip-hop artist who draws his musical inspiration from the desire to create unique music that can inspire others.

“I often incorporate various types of synths and instruments into my music to give it a dynamic and emotional feel.

“I became an artist out of a deep passion for music and the need to express myself creatively. I mix various genres, primarily trap, epic, and more experimental sounds.

“My motivation comes from the need to create something great, not just for myself but for those around me. I believe music has the power to change the world, and I want to be part of that change,” said Bapela.

He started making music at 16, mainly out of curiosity, adding his journey began in personal spaces, exploring FL Studio and recording vocals using his mobile phone.

“In 2020 I grew into more serious projects, recording with a friend Gildo Skhosana at his home studio but I quickly bought my own mic so I could record anytime because inspiration is spontaneous,” he said.

He learns from versatile and innovative artists; those who challenge the norms and create something meaningful.

He added he also draws inspiration from local South African artists like Cassper Nyovest, K.O, Big Zulu, Nasty C and international artists like Eminem and Mass of Man.

Wiseman Bapela is an alternative hip-hop artist.

“I mostly get inspiration from a band called Linkin Park, although my music style differs from theirs. While I currently focused on solo projects, I would love to collaborate with artists who share my vision for pushing boundaries, both in South Africa and internationally,” he added.

Bapela recently released his new single titled Spirit of Creation and cited that he is working on more music that will push his sound further and connect with audiences on a deeper level.

“The song is titled after an intense desire to create more music in a short amount of time, which is why it was mixed and mastered within a month.

“I am currently working on a joint album with Innocent ‘FiiEND’ Mahlophe. And am furthermore working on a dozen singles to be released soon,” Bapela said.
