Speaker welcomes first female chief whip of council in 20 years

The speaker of council in the CoE, Clr Nthabiseng Tshivhenga, congratulated the first female chief whip of council after she was sworn in on September 16.

Pelisa Nkunjana was elected unopposed as the chief whip of council at the extraordinary council meeting on February 13.

Nkunjana is the first female chief chip of council in the CoE in over 20 years. She previously held positions on the mayoral committee and was a chairperson of Oversight Committees.

Tshivhenga welcomed her and wished her well in her new role.
