Coach pleads for sponsorship
The Great Football Club coach said his teams want to participate in the upcoming Nomdayi co-games but needs sponsorship.
Tsakani – The Great Football Club U13 and U15 teams’ coach, Banele Mxosa (22), is a passionate coach who loves to positively influence his players through the provision of soccer skills and knowledge on soccer.
“Being a coach means a lot to me because I pave the way for younger boys to achieve what they want. I love the work I do for these players as I have noticed many of them have a true talent for soccer. I aim to continue encouraging them to reach their full potential,” he said.
He said he loves imparting skills in a mental, physical, technical and tactical way as it provides his players with excellent skills and analytic abilities for each game.
He added it is great for encouraging teamwork, saying it would make him proud to see some of his players play soccer professionally.
“I remind them every day to work hard, no matter the circumstances. Most come from underprivileged backgrounds and it is my duty to sometimes help them overcome the troubles they face.
“I always remind them they can change the situation they face at home,” he added.
He mentioned his team recently participated in the Gawula Africa Tournament and their participation was an eye-opener as they realised their potential and strengths.
He highlighted his teams needed sports equipment to boost their performance, appearance, and confidence.
“We cannot afford to buy most equipment for ourselves. We need soccer balls, cones, soccer kits and a proper ground to practice on because the one that we are currently using is not in good condition.

“We would also appreciate a helping hand from our surrounding communities in fixing the Ext 13 grounds we use for most of our activities,” he mentioned.
Mxosa said the community could additionally assist them by supporting the programme they have started by allowing their children to participate in soccer activities and by allowing them to join his teams.
“Soccer icons could help us by providing sponsorship or programmes that can assist in building our craft,” he added.
Mxosa disclosed his team wanted to participate in the upcoming Nomdayi co-games but is struggling.
