Tsakani – A taxi driver was hijacked and kidnapped on Geluksdal Road while driving his white Toyota Quantum on August 18.
“He claimed he was driving when three armed men stopped him whom he thought were passengers. After picking them up, he alleged that one produced a firearm and instructed him to stop and move to the back,” said Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the Ekurhuleni SAPS district communications officer.
Sekgobela added that the driver said the men drove around with him for a few minutes before dropping him off in the Withok area of Brakpan.
“The three men allegedly drove off with his vehicle. The victim opened a case with the Tsakane SAPS,” said Sekgobela.
No arrests have been made.
