Tsakani – A 17-year-old reported to the SAPS that she was raped on her way home from a tavern on August 17.
“She claimed she was confronted by a person known to her, who persistently asked her why she was walking alone at night,” said Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the Ekurhuleni SAPS district communications officer.
According to Sekgobela, the teenager said the male offered to accompany her home but instead took her to his home and, upon arrival, forcefully undressed her and raped her without protection.
The victim opened a case with the Tsakane SAPS, and no arrests have been made yet.
