Athletes impress at cross-country event

In the girls’ U13 3km, Zanele Mzizi came in third place, finishing in 15:31.

Langaville Athletics Academy brought home medals from the Central Gauteng Athletics cross-country fixtures, on August 17, at Kagiso Sports Complex.

Minenhle Kgaphola scooped the silver in the girls’ U12 3km race, when she finished it in 12:42.

In the girls’ U13 3km, Zanele Mzizi came in third place, finishing in 15:31.

Banele Mkhehle also won a bronze in the boys’ U9 2km, coming in at 08:23

Thoko Ndlovu finished the girls’ U11 3km in 12:12 and Buhle Mahlangu finished the junior women 2km in 09:10.

“I am so proud of them, and I know that they always take participation seriously.

“They have grown so much this year,” said coach and founder Saki Kgaphola.

Kgaphola also thanked Plus Butchery for providing snacks and drinks to the team.

“We also had a lot of assistance with transport to get to the venues where we compete,” he added.
