App makes job applications smoother

Lucky Kgwadi found it, and Prince Mahlangu joined later. The application helps to verify documents with various institutions online.

Kwa-Thema – Certify Docs was established in 2022 to help unemployed graduates in their search for jobs.

Lucky Kgwadi found it, and Prince Mahlangu joined later. The application helps to verify documents with various institutions online.

“My passion for application development comes from my early childhood experiences of being attached to technological devices. I grew up playing computer games. As a curious individual, I wanted to know how they made games so I could learn how to develop my own.

“Therefore, learning game development gave birth to my passion for contributing positively to my community using my skills and knowledge of technology to make a positive change locally, hence, the initiative to verify and certify documents free of charge,” explained Mahlangu.

Mahlangu said applying for employment has many costs associated with organising documents.

“With this system, one can organise verified and certified documents without any financial burden, only needing data to get your documents verified and certified.

“It saves on travelling costs to certify documents and avoids long queues. With our system, one can access documents anytime they are needed.

“I once walked from home, Barcelona, to the Kwa-Thema Police Station to have documents certified, only to find closed doors,” he said.

Mahlangu added that joining the Certify Docs team is a true success story for him.

“I can finally contribute positively to my community and country with what I deliver today. I learnt to be humble and patient along the way. I believe each of us has a purpose in life. We should strive forward against all odds.

“The journey is long, and sometimes you fail a lot. It only takes one win to make a difference and 100% self-discipline to sustain the momentum, so giving up is not an option,” said Mahlangu.
