Entities empower youth

AMA2K Womdantso is a newly formed dance group in Duduza.

Duduza – Andries Mokoena manages the NPC Ma Mind-Innovations (a division of Makgalemele Innovations) and is also a Ward 87 Duduza committee member representing the youth sector.

His NPC’s objective is to help the youth formalise their emerging businesses, manage their craft or talents, and learn new life skills, especially in strategic leadership development and entrepreneurship.

AMA2K Womdantso is a newly formed dance group in Duduza founded by Matokollo Ratau, popularly known as ‘MA2K’. The group receives guidance from Ma Mind-Innovations.

Ratau, who manages the group, is a Heidelberg Campus Sedibeng Tvet College student studying electrical infrastructure and construction. She is also a musician, actress, MC, dancer, event organiser and youth motivational speaker.

Matokollo Ratau gives the learners a positive overview of life.

On July 26, Ratau’s group was invited to perform at Etwatwa Secondary School (in Daveyton). She further gave a motivational talk to the school’s matric learners.

“It is almost the end of the year. A lot is yet to happen, and learners are yet to receive their end-of-the-year results. Staying focused and studying hard for the upcoming final exams is crucial for them.

“It is not too late to pull up their socks and change their year-end results. Moreover, I stressed the significance of finding a healthy balance between school work and natural talent because a well-managed talent can become a career development in disguise,” Ratau said.

Ratau, in partnership with Sibusiso Mabena, will host the AMA2K dance battle on August 31 in Bluegum View, Duduza.

The main objective of the dance battle is to boost the confidence of talented youth in their community through a stage performance.

“I am passionate about making a difference, taking the youth off the streets and away from drugs. I want to motivate them and make them realise dreams do come true,” Ratau added.
