Two men arrested for possible drug dealing

The two men are facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances.

Tsakani – The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two on Monday for possession of and possible dealing in illicit substances.

EMPD officers received a tip-off from concerned community members about the suspicious pair selling illicit substances to members of the community.

Officers acted on the information received and proceeded to the identified spot on the corner of Malandela and Ndabezitha streets.

“At the first stop, the officers cornered the 42-year-old suspect with seven brownish tablets suspected to be drugs, with an estimated street value of R550 and R30 in cash,” said the spokesperson of the EMPD, Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.

The second man was found in possession of 11 Ziplock packets with crystal meth with an estimated value of R550 and R60 in cash.

“The two men were taken to Tsakane Police Station while the confiscated illicit substance was booked at the same police station,” Thepa added.

The pair, facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance, are expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
