Kuso sows hope for a better future

Kwa-Thema – Every year, the Kutlwano Social Organisation (Kuso) organises events in various communities around Kwatsaduza to do charity work to help destitute individuals and families.

This year, the organisation did charity work at the East Rand TVET College in Kwa-Thema on July 21. It distributed 300 school shoes and 300 sanitary towels to needy learners.

“We donated these items to five primary schools – Umsobomvu, Theo Twala, Masimini, Sechaba and Qedusizi primary schools.

“We acquired help from different business stakeholders and each member of our organisation contributed a pair or two towards the event’s success.

“We worked collaboratively with the Department of Basic Education (DBE). It brought forward to us the schools with children needing our assistance.

“We also work closely with the social workers from the Department of Social Development (DSD). They connect us with child-headed families we reach out to and assist,” said Kuso’s communications subcommittee member, Pule Malefane.

He added that their social organisation promotes programmes and projects geared towards community development and upliftment.

“We aim to contribute towards a thriving SA, building sustainable and developed communities and contributing towards a better life for all. We plan to do this by creating a social environment that unleashes individual brilliance and excellence.

“We also aim to build hope for the underprivileged through innovation and creativity for self-actualisation and success,” said Kuso’s chairperson, Dali Mofokeng.

The organisation works to fight poverty and the socio-economic issues communities face.
