Yebo Yes wins friendly games

The netball teams gathered in Ext 22 to play friendly games.

Tsakani – Local U11 netball teams played friendly games at the Ext 22 Court Queens netball ground on July 5.

The first game between Yebo Yes and Court Queens yielded a victory for Yebo Yes, who won 3-1.

Yebo Yes coach Nomoya Mnguni said she did not predict a win for her team during the first few minutes of the first game because her players did not seem motivated enough to produce good results.

“We had more than enough time to prepare for this game. I would have been very disappointed to lose this game. It would have been the first time my U11 team lost a game. They never disappoint me,” she said.

The second game between Rising Eagles and Court Queens ended fruitfully for the Queens at 3-1.

Their coach, Tsietso Maake, said losing the first game gave them hope for better results in their second game.

“All my players are new to netball. We are still getting used to playing with other teams. They overlooked their unpolished skills and gave me a win. I am proud of my players. From here, we aim higher,” said Maake.

The third game did not favour the Rising Eagles either. They played against the Yebo Yes in a match that ended 2-1.

Coach Nelisiwe Marokwa said they did not have enough players, but she anxiously hoped they would do well despite their shortfall.

“We aim to do better going forward. One bad game does not mean we will always perform badly. We will put in more practice time to ensure we strive for positivity,” Marokwa said.
