Three arrested, stolen vehicle recovered

The white Isuzu LDV was recovered in Tsakani.

Members of the EMPD Eastern Region Task Team, Etwatwa Precinct officers and other stakeholders intercepted three foreign nationals aged 22, 25 and 35 for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle on June 19.

EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa said while on duty, the EMPD officers received information from a tracking company.

“Information was received about a stolen white Isuzu LDV sought with a Mahwelereng case number. Coordinates updated the vehicle in the Etwatwa area and later updated the vehicle to be in the Tsakani area.

“Officers followed the information and located the vehicle on Tsakani and Modjadji streets. Officers tactically stopped the vehicle and cornered the three male occupants.

“The driver failed to provide satisfactory answers for being in possession of the vehicle that was affixed with false registration plates and belonging to Mogalakwena Municipality in the Limpopo Province,” said Thepa.

Thepa added that all role players were summoned to the scene for further investigation.

“While the handcuffed threesome were marched to Tsakani police station, the vehicle was booked at Aeroton police pound.

“The trio facing charges of possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle are expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate Court soon,” added Thepa.

Thepa further cited that the EMPD commends officers for the swift response and the collaboration with other stakeholders to bring lawbreakers to book.
