Ulinda Athletics Club hosts a send off for members

Four members from the club will be partaking in the Comrades Marathon in KwaZulu-Natal.

Kwa-Thema – Ulinda Athletics Club took part in a breakfast run on Monday to send off their runners who will take part in the Comrades Marathon in KwaZulu-Natal.

The members began the 8km walk and run at the Ndaba tree, continued through the area and concluded back at the tree.

The club’s acting chairperson, Vincent Hlatshwayo, said the event’s purpose was to send off the Comrades runners in a special way.

“We got to see and talk to them and listen to how they feel about running in the marathon,” said Hlatshwayo.

The four members to run in KZN are Sandile Khumalo, Victor Malope, Stanley Sesane and Lebogang Maswanganye.

“The turnout was amazing. We had our netball players from the club, and this serves as a motivation to them,” he concluded.

The runners were treated to tea and coffee.
