Striders tap into track and field

Kwa-Thema Striders expand into new territory

Kwa-Thema – For the first time since its inception in 2009, Kwa-Thema Striders will compete in track and field.

“It is with joy and inspiration that I see the club growing. With projection and strategies in place, the club has managed to source more runners.

“The club managed to give back to the runners when the track and field runners were surprised to be issued with licenses and the club gear or vest.

“The focus now is to step into cross country as the next project,” said Skosana Sipho, the club’s chairperson.

The new members Delta Maselane and Thabiso Mangole are ready to make their mark.

“I don’t know how to start, but I would like to thank all the members of Kwa-Thema Striders for accepting me to join the team.

“I have been dreaming of finding a supporting team like this one. Thank to the leadership of the club,” said Maselane.

Mangole shared the same sentiments.

“One thing I assure the club is to work hard and win as a team. I waited for years for such a moment and am excited to be part of Kwa-Thema Striders as a family,” he said.

Boitumelo Mukhabele also joined the Kwa Thema Striders family.

The chairperson emphasised the club is here for the community and anyone interested in running is welcome, irrespective of age and gender.
