Hlengiwe Ntinga:
"No, we don't have roads in Tsakane Ext 8. That makes life difficult. Another thing is that I work at the taxi rank, I wish we had a shelter to sit under because when its raining, its a struggle to sell here."
The upcoming elections have sparked conversations about the service delivery issues that community members are faced with.
We asked Kwatsaduza residents if they believe the service delivery in their communities is up to standard.
Rakgetsi Mbonani:
“There's no service delivery here. We don't have street lights and that increases the crime rate here. They started cutting the grass because we are approaching elections but before elections, nothing was being done to clean the area.”
Gift Moteke:
“No, there are people who are living in places that use mobile toilets and these toilets are causing air pollution. The air pollution poses a threat to children's health. The service delivery in Ext 8 is poor.”
Joseph Dlamini:
“No, we don't have roads and drains so during rainy seasons the water becomes stagnant on our streets and that affects our daily life. We need to have roads and street lights because our living conditions are poor.”
Mlungisi Maseko:
“No, our streets are not clean and they are not safe. There are nyaope addicts and drug dealers. Our soccer grounds need to be cleaned so that the young people can play soccer and stop focusing on wrong things.”
