What can we do to save our planet?

Learners share their views about saving the planet.

Thato Motollo: The earth is our home, but plastic waste is suffocating the land and seas. We need to wake up and act before it is too late. We can’t just bury our heads in the sand.

Karabo Mofana: If you can’t recycle, try upcycling. Think of how you can use those materials to create something new. If you cut a 2l bottle in half, you can use it as a pot for a plant.

Sabelo Mnisi: We have to demonstrate support for environmental protection and raise awareness about environmental issues. The earth is slowly falling apart, and we need to know how to keep the environment clean so that we can live freely and enjoy it.

Thato Mmolawa: We can stop populating the earth. We can use recyclable materials, and use paper and steel straws instead of plastic ones.

Buyisile Ngwenya: This is a reminder of our part in taking care of the earth. We can do this by planting more plants and picking up litter. We need to be grateful for what we have in nature.

Kahleho Mahloko: We can use bamboo toothbrushes and eco-friendly toilet paper. We can also choose glass containers for soaps and detergents and paper bags instead of plastic bags.

Samukelisile Nyamakazi: Climate change has a major impact on our lives and futures. The temperatures go from really low to very high in a few days. I feel pity for farmers because some plants struggle to grow.
