Murderer handed 15-year jail sentence

The murder case was registered at Tsakane SAPS and the docket was allocated to Detective Sergeant Nhlanhla Zungu.

The Tsakane Magistrate’s Court imposed a sentence that will see Phindile Johnson Mngcineni spend 15 years in prison.

On November 20, 2021, a man and his wife saw Mngcineni, their neighbour, digging around their yard.

According to Captain Neldah Sekgobla, Ekurhuleni SAPS spokesperson, the neighbours had a conversation which ended up in a heated argument.

“Mngcineni stabbed the man and his wife with an object. The wife fell, and an ambulance and the police were called.

“The wife was transported to the Pholosong Hospital where she was certified dead on arrival,” she explained.

The murder case was registered at Tsakane SAPS and the docket was allocated to Detective Sergeant Nhlanhla Zungu.

Mngcineni was found guilty by the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court on April 3.
