Man arrested for fatal stabbing

The man fell and rolled into the stream that passes at the back of the shop.

Tsakani – Tsakane SAPS arrested a 23-year-old man after the fatal stabbing of an alleged thief.

On Tuesday at around 08:30, Tsakane Police officers responded to a murder scene on Skhumbane Street, Ext 18.

According to Captain Neldah Skgobela, Ekurhuleni police spokesperson, when officers arrived, they found members of the community gathered around the shop.

They pointed out the lifeless body of an unknown man lying in the stream. A foreign national who works at the tuck shop allegedly stabbed him.

“Upon further enquiry, the officers heard an unknown man stole a speaker box from the shop and ran away.

“The shop assistant gave chase and caught him at the back of the shop,” explained Skgobela.

The alleged thief took out a knife, but the man overpowered him, took the knife and stabbed him several times in the upper body.

The man fell and rolled into the stream that passes at the back of the shop. The suspect was arrested and detained at Tsakane SAPS for murder.

The body was taken to Springs Government Mortuary. The deceased has been identified.
