Use water sparingly amid high temperatures

The City is noticing a strain on the water supply and urges residents to be extra frugal with their water usage.

The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) technicians have noted a strain in the water supply system due to high water demand.

To mitigate the impact that the high water demand might have on the system, technicians are implementing various technical interventions to maintain the balance of the city’s water supply system to manage the demand in the communities.

These interventions include pressure management on the water reticulation network and the curtailment of water supply during certain hours of the day.

As a result of the current strain, communities may experience low water pressure to no water, especially those in high-laying areas.

“The city will ensure that there is non-stop water supply, and where the taps have run dry, water tankers will be provided to those areas,” says city spokesman Zweli Dlamini.

The city encourages the customers to continue using water sparingly. Residents are encouraged to visit the city’s digital platforms for updates related to the water situation.
