Langaville – Athletes from different schools in and around Langaville, who are part of the Langaville Athletics Club (LAC), participated in the District Five Primary schools competition at the Germiston Stadium last Wednesday.
LAC coach Sakie Kgapola said he was proud of how the members of the club performed.
“Two of them will be participating in the provincial competition on Friday and Saturday in Boksburg, which is a great achievement,” he said.
The club members who excelled in Germiston are:
• Minenhle Kgapola (U12), first 1 200m
• Julia Tshabalala (U12), fourth 1 200m
• Bongiwe Mampengo (U13), fourth 1 200m
• Nhlanhla Ncube (U12), fifth 1 200m
• Lesego Mtawunse (U11), fourth 1 500m
• Temaswati Njema (U7), second 800m
Kgapola added he has asked the sports department to erect an informal temporary track at the Ext 7 Ground where they train from Mondays to Thursdays at 17:00.
