Our journalist nabs top honours

Kelebogile bags another award.

Kwatsaduza – African Reporter journalist Kelebogile Chokoe received top honours at the Gauteng Women in Sports Awards.

The event, hosted by Futballing Girls, was held at the Kyalami Country Club on Saturday. Chokoe won the Gauteng Journalist of the Year award.

In September, she won the Ekurhuleni Journalist of the Year award.

“This honour means a lot to me. It is for all the girls who are fighting for recognition in sports.

“My hope for them is that they will be given all the credit due to them and that their talents will be showcased on the appropriate platforms,” she said.

Chokoe was a finalist in the category along with Obedience Mkhabela, a journalist at the African Reporter’s sister newspaper, the Germiston City News.
