Foundation helps learners to achieve better results

This year the foundation adopted learners from Zimisele and Phulong Secondary Schools.

Kwa-Thema- The Masimong Foundation recently held a prize-giving ceremony to honour and appreciate learners at Kwa-Thema Hall Council Chambers.

The learners were part of the foundation’s accounting, mathematics and physical science tutoring programme.
Established in 2022 by Sandi and Mike Teke, the programme aims to outsource tutoring for learners to improve their accounting, maths and physical science marks.

“When we started this initiative, we worked with learners from Tlakula High School and Kenneth Masikela Secondary School.

“This year we adopted learners from Zimisele and Phulong Secondary Schools as we hope and believe as this initiative continues, it will have a profound effect on every learner we touch by assisting them to have a brighter future,” explained Sandi.

The programme caters to learners from Grade 10 to 12.

“We are proud to announce that 2023 was a successful year for our learners who went above and beyond by obtaining several distinctions and being among the top achievers in the Gauteng East District and their respective schools.

“We also hope to instil a thirst for knowledge, the joy of understanding new things and curiosity to explore,” she added.

The programme provided tutors for nine matriculants in 2023.

Two of them achieved five distinctions each in the NSC exams.

One of them achieved four distinctions, while another scored two.

The top achievers also received gift vouchers to be used as they transition into tertiary education.
