Pam Faku to release single on February 26

Pam Faku will celebrate her birthday and commemorate her father's death on February 26.

Kwa-Thema – In hope of comforting others, Pam Faku will be releasing a track titled Xola on February 26.

Pam was born in the Eastern Cape and her father died on the day she was born, on February 26.

“My father was called to the hospital and on his way, while waiting to catch a taxi, an RG-12 (police Nyala) knocked him down. He was rushed to the same hospital I was born, where he later died,” she said.
Pam said the inspiration to write Xola came after meeting a lady who shared her birth story with her.

“The lady told me on the day she was born, doctors had told her mother that either they save her life or the child’s life, and the mother sacrificed her life,” she continued.

Pam said this showed her that more people lost a parent on the day they were born.

“Every year comes by and I don’t know whether to celebrate my birthday or commemorate my father’s death. I’m hoping the release of Xola will give me an indication of how to spend the day in the future,” said Pam.

This is not the first song she will release. The songstress, who grew up in Nyanyadu, Kwa-Thema, is also an award-winning musician who won the best musician award in the Ekurhuleni Music Awards last year for Imibuzo, her first single she released last year.

She is also a fashion designer by profession, a content producer, and a film director.
Her music can be found on different streaming platforms.
