Duduza matriculants step up

The teaching staff breathed a sigh of relief when the NSC exam results were released.

Duduza – Local schools were relieved when the matric results showed an improvement for the class of 2023.
Asser Maloka Secondary School increased from 76.1% in 2022 to 84.1% in 2023.

The school was fourth on the 2022 list but has moved to third place.

“I was aiming for 90%, but will happily accept 84.1%.

“We have made giant strides to be where we are, and I am grateful for the efforts of everyone who supported us,” explained Thomas Sehume, the school’s principal.

The 214 learners who sat for their NSC exams produced 78 bachelor passes, 58 diploma passes and 40 higher certificates.

• Esibonelwesihle Secondary School improved from 83.2% in 2022 to 90.4%. They not only stayed at the top of the list in Duduza but are the top school in Kwatsaduza for the class of 2023.

• Tandi Eleanor Sibeko Secondary School increased from 77.2% in 2022 to 85.3%.

• MOM Seboni Secondary School went from 77.9% to 80.9 in 2023.

• Nimrod Ndebele Secondary School dropped from 75.1% to 63.8%
