Nkomo-Gonela hosts entrepreneurs at breakfast

Nkomo-Gonela Holdings hosted a business breakfast on Friday

Kwa-Thema – Nkomo-Gonela Holdings hosted a business breakfast on Friday at Café 69 in Kwa-Thema.

The breakfast was attended by business owners who want to expand their businesses, owners of businesses three years and older and those who seek funding for their businesses.

Different stakeholders in business were invited to speak to the entrepreneurs.

Saki Zamxaka, the CEO of the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP), advised the entrepreneurs to always get their documents in order when applying for funding and said it’s always the little things that get people disqualified when sending through funding applications.

Bongani Luvalo directed the business breakfast programme.

Proudly SA membership manager Alicia Logan encouraged manufacturers to join Proudly SA as it will boost their businesses.

She said signing up with Proudly SA can help the business products hit the shelves in major supermarkets.

She also encouraged the manufacturers to have their skincare and edible products tested before they can sell them.

Logan also added that Proudly SA encourages manufacturers to use local products to manufacture their goods while also encouraging consumers to buy local products. Entrepreneurs also had a Q&A opportunity with the speakers.

Manyatsa Nkutha, Industrial Development Corporation of SA (IDC) senior enterprise specialist and pre-investment support unit, said businesses that need funding up to R5m can apply for it at GEP and when the business has grown, they can apply for funding at the IDC.

“We provide funding to small businesses but also to large corporations,” he said.

He said they also support start-ups and not only existing businesses.
