Can you help? Man eager to learn more about his family’s history

His maternal family lived in the old Brakpan Location.

Koos Motaung writes by email:

I am looking for my maternal family, last seen while residing at either house number 99 or house number 100 in the old Brakpan Location, which was abolished in 1980 by the former apartheid political leaders.

My maternal grandmother’s forenames and maiden name were Mmakwasa Mary Mokoteli (Mokotedi).

It is alleged that my granny was affectionately known as Mary Moepi/Moepye to many in the now defunct township as she was married to Mr Kgabo Moepi/Moepye.

It is further alleged that they both had two daughters and a son with whom they lived with at the aforementioned address.

Their two daughters’ names were Tsotsi and Mamfora.

Unfortunately, my family had forgotten the son’s name when narrating my maternal family’s background and or history.

In particular, my granny Mary hailed from the former Orange Free State in the Kroonstad District (on different farms) before she migrated to the then Transvaal Province to Brakpan. She was a Sesotho-speaking woman and acknowledged herself as a Mosotho woman.

My mother’s name, who was her first-born child and daughter, was Dipuo Mokoteli.

I am a 46-year-old father of one. I am currently based in Klerksdorp. Please help me in this matter.
