Kwa-Thema – Kutlwano Social Organisation will host its annual Wellness Heritage event at Kwa-Thema Stadium on Sunday.
The day will be commemorated under the theme ‘Celebrating our cultural diversity in a democratic South Africa’.
The day will start with a fun walk/run and later a Heritage Day festival with live music. Prizes will be up for grabs.
There will be a mobile clinic for the elderly to check their health status free of charge.
The organisation’s Musi Zondo said: “We are encouraging members of the public and the youth in particular to join us as we promote a healthy lifestyle.

“We want to see young people participating in constructive events and using their energy to promote sports in our communities.”
The organisation’s chairperson, Dali Mofokeng said the day marks an important opportunity.
“We commemorate our heritage as informed by the spirit of unity in diversity. We invite all to showcase their traditional and cultural attire on the day.
“Heritage Day is one of the important days in the country’s calendar and this is because it is a day that our country’s constitution encourages in the bill of rights that our tradition and culture must be protected as part of our human rights.”
Registration will start at 06:00 at the stadium.
