Women work hard to make ends meet

Trio washes dustbins in Ext 3.

Tsakani – Yamkelusizo Lwethu Cleaning Services is a small company of three women trying to make ends meet.

The trio from Tsakani Ext 3 went house to house in August, informing residents of their new business, currently focusing on washing dustbins after refuse collection.

They started washing the dustbins on August 28, washing 13 bins on the day. They then faced challenges, causing them to wash 11 on September 18.

They wash the dustbins on Monday.

Busisiwe Nkosi said, “God gave us minds to think and hands to work. We therefore thought we couldn’t continue living in poverty when we could use our hands to make money.

She said this business didn’t need start-up capital as they took cleaning materials from their homes. Nkosi said they are willing and hoping to grow the business by spreading it to the entire Tsakani.

“People are unemployed, therefore, we understand our business would not always go as expected. We usually target those that we know are employed,” she added.

Nkosi said they currently need sponsors to help with the cleaning materials. To assist the women, call Nkosi on 078 520 8531.
