People are invited to attend the agriculture market day on October 26

People to be taught about farming

Kwatsaduza – With the cost of living soaring in South Africa, the Ekurhuleni Farming Development Association will host a market day on October 26 to educate people on farming.

The day will have several activities, including a business market expo and product sales, an agri-related career expo, speakers from government and businesses doing presentations, entertainment by arts and culture groups, wine and juice tasting, traditional African food tasting and business working.

Stompie Mkhonto from the association said, “We will be educating people on food security and how they can eat from the garden.

“Food is expensive of late, and people don’t know that they can make a living out of farming as they can sell their harvest.”

Mkhonto said different departments will be at the event, and people can benefit more than just learning about farming.

The market day will be at 21 and 34 Rademan Street in Withok Estates in Brakpan from 09:00 to 17:00.
