Men share their daily experiences and challenges with cancer at the sessions.

Kwatsaduza – If you are a man living with cancer and want more information about it, particularly cancers that affect men, CanSurvive encourages you to attend its regular meetings.

CanSurvive’s Mandla Zondo said they tackled any issues regarding cancer, such as fear, treatment, recovery and coping mechanisms.

Mandla said they also shared how to cope with life living with the condition and how treatment affected those around them.

“We know that men often shy away from attending to their health until it is too late. We urge them to attend our sessions where they will drink from a well of knowledge and leave better informed.

“We also have medical practitioners, psychologists, dieticians and oncologists, who share professional advice with the attendees,” he said.

They host two meetings – the support group and the men’s wellness clinic.

The support group meets every second Tuesday of the month at the Roman Catholic Church at 10:00. The men’s wellness sessions, covering topics around men’s health, are at the Kwa-Thema Main Clinic every third Saturday at 08:00.
