Planned power supply interruption in parts of Brakpan
Parts of Brakpan will be without electricity for hours.
Kwa-Thema – The power supply to some parts of Brakpan will be affected because of the need to do emergency maintenance at the Vulcania substation.
The maintenance is scheduled for August 5 and 6 from 08:00 until 15:00 daily.
“The emergency maintenance work is necessary to prevent damage to the electrical components,” said city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

The affected areas will include Brakpan Central, Brenthurst, Anzac, Vulcania and all Kwa-Thema areas connected to Vulcania.
Some Kwa-Thema areas were connected to the Vulcania substation in June after the Kwa-Thema main substation caught fire on May 11.
Residents must treat electrical networks as live at all times.
