Hip hop single a call to action

“I want people to remember where they come from and what or who they want to become.”

Kwa-Thema – Hip hop artist Simphiwe Mokate, known as Ta-Ace to his fans, recently released a single called 1818 Thokoza.

The 32-year-old wants to inspire his community through his new song. Mokate said he wanted this single to inspire people to change and do something for themselves.

“This song is a powerful ode to my community, symbolising unity and support. In this song, I wanted to paint a vivid picture of the challenges we come across, and I wanted my fans to be inspired to take action,” he said.

He said he didn’t just sing but delivered a message that would make people return for more. Mokate explained that the song solidified his position as a hip-hop monarch, using his talent to uplift and unite communities.

He wanted the song to positively impact his fans and instil a spirit of change in their hearts.

“I want people to remember where they are from and what or who they want to become. I encourage them to believe in their craft and the possible change it can bring in their communities or someone’s life,” he added.

Mokate said he was more than just a hip-hop artist; he was also an agent of change. With this song, he aimed to bring unity and hope.

According to him, he actively engaged with local initiatives supporting education and youth empowerment in his community.
