Reedville Clinic staff celebrate Mandela Day with the community

Sixty-five people were fed at the Reedville Clinic soup kitchen for Mandela Day.

Kwa-Thema – For the 67 minutes of Mandela Day, Reedville Clinic staff shared warm soup and bread with their patients and others in need.

This was their way of giving back to the community, supporting them over the years.

One of the staff members, Khabonina Motha, said they felt the need to participate in the international celebration and honouring the late statesman, Nelson Mandela.

“We approached other colleagues to donate funds from their pockets towards the initiative.

“We are happy that many of them responded to the call to make the day a success,” she said.

Khabonina added this was a perfect day to share and show appreciation to their patients.

She added because of the cold weather, they prepared vegetable soup and bread and served up to 65 people.
