‘Makhetha’ shot and killed in Kwa-Thema
The victim was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.
Kwa-Thema – Thulani ‘Makhetha’ Shabalala was shot and killed during an armed robbery on Saturday night.
The 34-year-old went to buy a kota when armed men accosted him on Morapedi Street.
Allegedly, he tossed his phone toward a nearby house before being shot in his chest.
His brother, Andile Shabalala, told African Reporter Thulani was declared dead at the scene.
“Unfortunately, the ambulance only arrived an hour after the incident. We urge the police to arrest the suspects and bring them to book,” he added.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at Trinity Church on Mdebuka Street in Phulmulo.
Police investigations are underway, and the suspects are unknown.
