Toam Communication to host Matric Festival

“We want to bring psycho-educational institutions that will give advice and practical applications on how to deal with exam stress and the announcements of results.”

Tsakani– Grade 12 is when learners find themselves under pressure to excel. It is when they must decide on the next phase of their journey that will determine their careers.

To help them make some of their decisions about tertiary studies, Toam Communications stepped forward. They will host a career expo on July 18, dubbed the Matric Festival.

They expect more than 1 600 Grade 12 learners, companies, and entities that will share career guidance and psycho-social advice on dealing with exam stress.

The aim is to have information transferred from institutions and industry players so that learners are better equipped when they complete high school.

Tsakani Secondary School assistant teacher Basetsana Phora said, “We want to bring psycho-educational institutions that will give advice and practical applications on how to deal with exam stress and the announcements of results.

“We understand that, at this time of the year, matric learners are stressed about exams and passing with flying colours. We need the experts on the day to share some coping mechanism to make it through this period,” she said.

Phora added that they wanted to give the learners a day of entertainment by including artists they enjoy seeing and listening to.

The event will be held on July 18 at the Faranani Multipurpose Centre from 08:00 to 14:00. For more information, contact Toam Communication on 062 899 7299.
