Amazokozoko uplifts community through educational events

“I had expected at least 50 people to attend the event given that it was our first time hosting, but I was surprised to see so many people coming to show us their support.”

Kwa-Thema – Amazokozoko FC is determined to bring families together and remove young people from the streets.

The football club hosted a 5km family fun walk, aerobics and soccer tournament on June 16 as part of Youth Day commemorations.

People of all ages participated in the event.

The team’s PRO, George Zulu, said they have identified that young people are tempted to experiment with drugs.

“Through various initiatives, we are hoping to fight the scourge. We also have a food garden and sell the produce for profit to fund the sports initiatives,” he added.

Soccer legend Innocent Mayoyo, a former professional goalkeeper, encouraged locals to enrol young people in local soccer teams.

The president of the club, Vincent Keswa, said he is proud of everything that they have achieved since 2019.

“We just want to make a difference in the community. We also aim to become a professional team,” said Vincent.
