Health and law enforcers say children should be protected

The school had a Child Protection Week awareness campaign last Monday

Duduza – Dan Radebe Primary School in Duduza closed Child Protection Week last Monday, at the school, with an awareness programme.

The school had special guests from the Duduza SAPS, Nigel School Health Team, Nigel Social Development, Nigel Health Promoters and EMPD.

The speakers spoke in one voice as they all focused their speeches on the protection of children.

Duduza SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka said, “We call on all South Africans to support Child Protection Week by ensuring that the most vulnerable in our society do not suffer abuse.

“It is in our hands to stop the cycle of neglect, abuse, violence and exploitation of children.”

After all the presentations, the learners marched around the school to raise awareness of children’s rights during Child Protection Week.

The learners’ message was the hashtag #Keepingchildrensafeandwelliseverybodysbusiness.
