Wicket Masters thoroughly beat Jolly Brothers by 40 runs in the Last Man Stands (LMS) T20 eight-a-side Cricket League on Sunday at the Brakpan Sports Grounds.

The Masters won the toss and elected to bat first and looked comfortable in the crease.

Captain Tiaan van Tonder and Gerhard Jordaan made sure that they started off well. They put on an opening partnership of 95 runs to send their side on the way to victory.

Jolly Brothers’ Kyle Steyn was the bowler who made the breakthrough as he picked up the first wicket when he picked up the wicket of van Tonder for 47 runs off 43 balls.

Van Tonder’s partner, Jordaan, went on to score his half-century as he reached the milestone off 42 balls to help the Wicket Masters reach 119/1 in their 20 overs.
