From great mess to greatness, Makeke is taking over Langaville

A fashion show was held in Langaville.

Langaville’s finest in collaboration with Ekasi Fashion Week, Meetse, City Waldorf, Sfumato and Barbeque Sounds Solutions presented the Gift’s 28th Birthday Sale event on February 25 and 26 at 2783 Huhluwe Street in Langaville Ext 1.

The event is named the Gift’s 28th Birthday Sale because they had a 28% sale on all items and Gift Makeke turned 28 years on January 29.

Gift Makeke is the founder and creative director of Langaville’s Finest, a fashion brand, and its inception was inspired by his story of victory and resilience.

The nature of the event entailed a street fashion show on the dusty streets of Langaville. There was a live performance by Okolom, a local cycling club, and a group of cyclists wearing Langaville’s Finest designs paraded on the streets.

Various age groups attended the event, and entry was free.

“I selected my father’s house as a venue because that is where my life began, and the clothing brand is called Langaville’s Finest. It was monumental,” said Makeke.

This was a first-of-its-kind event hosted in Langaville and the first of many for the Gift’s 28th Birthday Sale event.

“It was a massive success, and I witnessed its impact first-hand.

“The children in the township were very excited. They took pictures with the models and were also fascinated with the designs.

“We had photographers to capture every moment, and this also showed the children’s interest in joining the arts and media industries, said Makeke.

Makeke said the success of Langaville’s Finest gives him joy because Langaville is notorious for gun violence and drug abuse.

“The story of great mess to greatness continues because the young children had an opportunity to witness something beautiful. I can say that we have designed dreams, and the youth can aspire to be models, designers, and photographers. We have expanded the horizons of the township economy.

“Furthermore, the event echoed one of our missions – to strive against all the odds to change the status and shine against our background.

“We are looking forward to more such events in the townships and collaborating more with township entrepreneurs,” concluded Makeke.
