Kwa-Thema man arrested for dealing in drugs
EMPD officers found drugs at the suspect's home.
Kwa-Thema – Members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested a man for dealing in illicit substances on Thursday.
EMPD media liaison officer Ignatius Maphike said while performing law enforcement duties in the area, the officers received information about a residence on Nyamakazi Street that allegedly trade in drugs.
“The officers proceeded to the address and cornered one suspect inside the premises.
“Upon searching the house police found eight small packets of nyaope with the estimated street value of R400 and R230 in cash suspected to be proceeds of the drugs,” he explained.
Maphike said the suspect was marched to the Kwa-Thema Police Station, charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.
