A chance for Kwa-Thema tennis players to play for Gauteng

This will provide players with great opportunities.

Kwa-Thema – Two tennis clubs from Kwa-Thema and Vosloorus were the only two clubs in Ekurhuleni to be invited by Tennis South Africa for selection trials.

U12 and U14 Kwa-Thema Sparks Tennis Club players have been invited to the University of Pretoria on Saturday where 24 players will be selected to play in the provincial team.

A senior player at the club, Lefentse Nkosi said, “This is good for our club as the selected players will receive special coaching and they will find the opportunity to play in the Super Six, the Super Eight and International Tennis Federation tournaments.”

The selected players will also have an opportunity to be in the development structures to be invited to camp with the national teams from time to time, and even earn an opportunity to participate in the zonal competitions.

Nkosi said this will give great exposure to the children and they are happy to be given such an opportunity as everyone wishes to play at the Tukkies fields.

“We are hoping that some of our players will be selected to be part of the Gauteng team,” Nkosi concluded.
