Ngobeni died in America

Deceased: Pastor Barbarah Jabu Ngobeni, affectionately known as Sister B, born on September 6, 1959, in Kwa-Thema, died on December 30 last year after a short illness.

Education: She attended Zamani Primary School and went to Orhovelani High School. She later completed her secondary education at Phulong Secondary.

She furthered her studies at a nursing college, then went to Rhema Bible College and later went to the University of Jerusalem.
Ngobeni left 22 years ago to pursue her studies in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Career: She worked as a nurse at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, the Leratong Hospital and the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, previously known as the Johannesburg General Hospital.

Community: Sister B grew attended the Church of England in Kwa-Thema, which was pastored by her late father, Paul Ngobeni.

Thereafter, she was a member of the Assemblies of God.

She then proceeded to minister at New Covenant Ministries and was later the founder of her church in Tsakani Ext 11 called Fountain of Christ-Centred Ministries.

For years before leaving for America, she was an evangelist on Radio Pulpit. She was known to minister and to teach on her show Women and Focus, and other XiTsonga programmes.

She was an influential woman who was God-fearing, humble, respected, gifted and chosen by God.

She was known to pray in tongues as a prayer warrior who cast out demons. She specialised in prayer, fasting and worshipping. In an era when Christianity was dominated by male pastors and leaders, she thrived.

Funeral: Her body will arrive on Friday at the OR Tambo International Airport. Her body will leave her home at 6 Mdakane Street, Phomolo Section at 07:00 to Faith Mission Church in Kwa-Thema where the service will be held till 11:00.

The cortege will proceed to the Brakpan Cemetery.
