Local model aims for the finals

Nkosi needs to raise funds to reach the finals.

Kwa-Thema – Mpendulo Nkosi is a Mister Supranational South Africa semi-finalist from Kwa-Thema.

Mister Supranational is a male pageant with the slogan, Inspirational-Aspirational. That slogan motivated Nkosi to join the pageant.

“I’m more of a thorough and deep person. I don’t just do things for the sake of it, especially if something is superficial. When I saw the slogan of the pageant and what the pageant is all about, I was inspired to join,” he said.

Nkosi said one of the things the pageant focuses on is to create role models for young boys.

“I’m from ekasi and there are no opportunities like this one in our area, hence, I am taking this opportunity with both hands.

“I want to play a part in our township. I want to be a role model and show the young boys that as a black child, it is possible,” Nkosi said.

According to Nkosi, there’s an amount that semi-finalists must raise for them to reach the finals.

Nkosi said he has approached various people to fund him, however, he has not reached the required amount. He asks that the public lend him a helping hand.

He said there are programmes which he runs that could help to raise the funds.

The finale will take place on April 8 at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg. The winner will represent South Africa in Poland.

Those willing to donate may contact Nkosi at 074 409 8936.
