Football club to assess for which league players are suitable

New players to be selected to play in the Local Football Associations or the SAB leagues.

Kwa-Thema – Sibiya FC held U18 and U21 soccer trials on January 28 at Kwa-Thema Stadium.

With the trials, the club aims to recruit new members and get youngsters off the streets.

Team manager Thabiso Kgoarai said, “The trials went well, and attendance was good. We want to remove the boys from the streets so they don’t get involved in bad things like drugs and crime.

“People are talented but don’t know what to do or where to go with their talents. Our trials will help as we will absorb them, and they will bring their talents to the team.”

According to Kgoarai, three players were selected for U18 and 10 for U21. The players will practice with the team on Wednesdays.

They will be assessed during training because some players will be selected to play in the SAB League and others in the Local Football Associations league.
