Church offers music classes

Children invited for music and art classes.

Kwa-Thema – The Kristo iNkosi Catholic Church in Kwa-Thema Highlands section has established a music and arts ensemble for children between the ages of eight and 18 years.

There are various activities for children to participate in at the church, such as:

• A library where they can do their school research/projects

• Going to the library to read children’s books under the supervision of volunteers

• Marimba classes on Fridays and Saturdays to learn and play the instrument

• Violin classes on Fridays and Saturdays to learn how to play the instrument

• Sporting codes that are available for them once they have finished in the library, namely soccer, netball and table tennis, to mention a few

The church leadership, under the tutelage of parish priest Father Chaka Motanyane, has decided to open the church to all children in and around the community.

There will be an open day on January 28 at the church on the corner of Rapodile and Dhladhla streets, Highlands, from 09:00 to 16:00.

Parents from Kwatsaduza are invited to the open day to meet various tutors who will be able to provide more details.
