Tsakani – Star Girls Netball Team under the We Can do This Community Project couldn’t do it as they lost a tournament they hosted.
The tournament was held on Saturday at the Tsakani Ext Eight Ground.
Star Girls hosted and played against Mighty Movers, The Wings, Kgotso Stars, Lethuxolo, Dynamites, Spirit Development and Kwa-Thema Netball Team (KNT).
The tournament was played by the U13 and U15 with Dynamites winning both sections.
The U15 scores were:
Spirit Development 2-6 Lethuxolo.
Mighty Movers 6-1 Kgotso Stars.
Dynamites 8-1 Star Girls.
Spirit Development 10-3 The Wings.
KNT 5-1 Star Girls
Dynamites then moved to the semi-finals where they won 6-5 against Spirit Development.
Dynamites met Mighty Movers in the finals where they beat them 10-6.
The U-13 scores were:
Spirit Development 5-0 Kgotso Stars.
KNT 5-1 Star Girls.
Kgotso Stars 0-9 Dynamites.
Dynamites then won the tournament as they were the top scorers.
Star Girls coach Matshidiso Silinda said, “I am not happy with how we performed. However, at the end of the day, it’s a game.”
Silinda said her team will learn to always be prepared. She also thanked the sponsors who made the tournament successful.
