Institue of Mathematics opens programme for aspiring tutors

Unemployed youth are invited to apply for the Institute of Mathematics 'Creating Tutors' programme.

Unemployed youth are invited to apply for the Institute of Mathematics ‘Creating Tutors’ programme.

Eighty unemployed youth from Kwa-Thema, Tsakani, Daveyton and Duduza will be selected.

Tutors will be placed in schools to assist Grade Eight and Nine learners with mathematics, accounting and physical sciences for the 2023 academic year.

A monthly stipend of R2 000 will be provided. Successful applicants will be equipped with entrepreneurial skills as part of their programme.

This is in line with ensuring that they start their own tutoring companies, once they have served their terms.

Ntsane Masiloane, the CEO of the Institute of Mathematics, vows to mentor them until they are fit to run their centres.

The minimum requirements are that the applicant must have passed matric with mathematics and accounting or physical sciences.
