Coach happy with cricket team’s performance

U10 cricket team suffers loss.

Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Cricket Club U10 team played against Benoni Northerns Cricket Club on Saturday at the Prince Thethe Oval at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex.

Coach Mandla Nkosi said he had to field seven of the U8 team as the U10 players didn’t pitch for the match.

Northerns won the toss and decided to bat first; they scored 159/8 which Kwa-Thema had to chase.

Kwa-Thema failed to reach the target as they scored 98 all out and lost the game.

“I’m happy with the performance as we had most of our players being from the U8s. They played very well and ‘in defeat, you learn’. It was a good game, all went well, I’ve got no complaints,” said Nkosi.

Nkosi said their bowling and batting etiquette was okay; they were only defeated because the Northerns quickly broke their batting order.

“We have learnt from this defeat,” concluded Nkosi.
