Woman shot and killed in Masimini

Help police track down Nocawe's killers.

Kwa-Thema – Nocawe Vilakazi was shot and killed while sitting in her car with her cousin by an unknown man in Masimini Section on Wednesday afternoon.

The 43-year-old was shot once at close range in the neck and was declared dead on the scene.

The deceased’s cousin, who asked not to be named, said they were sitting in the car waiting for Nocawe’s tyre to be fixed when she heard a loud bang.

“When I looked up I saw Nocawe’s thighs covered in blood with her head hanging unbalanced.

“She didn’t even scream or make a sound,” she explained.

The cousin added the images from the incident are still playing in her head.

“I doubt I will ever get over the trauma and forget how she was killed. I’m pleading to law enforcement agencies to track down the killer to face the law,” she added.

Springs police spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala confirmed that they are investigating a case of murder.

“The motive of the shooting is still unknown and police investigations are underway. We are pleading with anyone with information to come forward,” he added.
